Multymeter.com – Movie : The appearance of the full Superman superhero costume worn by David Corenswet immediately caused a stir in cyberspace. This became a pro and con for fans, where some liked and hated the costume.
They compared it to several old costumes, namely the Christopher Reeves era in the 1970s and 1980s, or in Man of Steel played by Harry Cavil, even to the classic era. Indeed, hero films, such as Superman and Batman, are always shown differently in each version with several actors who have played them.
However, despite a long history of changes that have occurred over the years, this latest change has left fans caught in a fierce dispute in cyberspace.
As James Gunn’s DCU prepares to debut Superman in 2025, new images from the set have emerged online, with a clear look at the suit worn by the main character, David Corenswet. Everything from the symbol on his chest to the pants he wears has been criticized, and fans have been strongly for and against the suit.
Some fans have compared Corenswet’s modern costume to Christopher Reeves’ Superman costume from the 1970s and 1980s. Both feature a much simpler design than anything in recent history.
However, while the overall color and design are similar to Reeves’ version, Corenswet’s modern suit features a number of raised lines throughout the design that I personally find to be quite overdone. And for many online users, these lines and panels detract from the simplicity that made the original so iconic.
