Multymeter.com–Technology: South Korean electronics company LG Electronics officially announced its new logo. So the logo that has been used so far, namely a circle containing the letters “L”, “G” and the “dot” symbol representing a human face emoticon in a convex circle will no longer be used.
Instead, a logo containing the letters “L” and the letter “G” is simply embedded in a plain red background. Therefore, the appearance of the logo now looks flatter and more minimalistic. Logo Now, the logo describing the company’s identity looks simpler and fresher than the previous logo.
The new logo is called “LG Active Red”. As the name suggests, this new LG logo comes with a typical LG red background, not white like the previously familiar LG logo.
Although the new logo was officially unveiled, there is still no official word on when this new logo will be used and effectively replace the old LG logo. So far, LG’s official website still uses the old logo, not the new one. However, what is clear is that this new logo will further decorate all existing LG products and services, as well as new products to be launched in the future.
LG Electronics CEO William Cho said that this new logo was introduced as a move by LG to reach out to more consumers around the world, especially young people. This new logo better conveys the company’s culture, values and identity to its consumers, of course in line with the company’s innovation and approach to them.
With this new logo strategy, LG aims to become an iconic brand that fits in and can be seen by consumers across generations in various locations around the world.
LG’s latest logo will also feature an animation depicting a smiling emoticon, also known as a smiley, as was the case with the previous logo, which was famous for its “Life’s Good” slogan. However, LG said that the emoticons derived from its logo would be more varied and expressive, such as the possibility of showing winking or nodding emoticons.***
